Conflict Resolution Program​

The Rotary Club of Agege held a public campaign in Agege to combat drug abuse and violence. Key partners, including the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and Nigerian Police Force, educated the community on prevention and its dangers.

As part of its engagement under Peace and Conflict resolution banner, Rotary Club of Agege organised a public talk and campaign against drug abuse and violence in the Pen-Cinema area of Agege.
 

Many communities including Agege have seen rising levels of drug abuse, and its impact on the society, including 
fuelling crime and violence; long-term health issues etc  affecting individuals, families and the community. The open air event involving partners from Nigerian Police Force (Pen-Cinema Division); National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA);  Phychiatry Professionals; Agege Local Government; National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Agege branch; and Rotary Community Corps of RC Agege, held on ‎Thursday, 26th February, 2026 Under the bridge by Pen-Cinema Motor Park, Agege.

The Chairman of Agege Local Government Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa was present and addressed the gathering. Senior officers from the Nigerian Police, NDLEA and NURTW were also in attendance and took turns to address the gathering on ways to avoid the use of drugs. The Phychiatry Professionals talked on the impact of drugs. 
The Rotary team was led by Rtn. Olufemi Ogungbemi, President Rotary Club of Agege.
